
Artist Bio
Bureau of Print Research and Design is a one person print and design studio. Francisco Ramirez comes from the Midwest DIY punk rock community, with over 30 years of performing and creating music. Graduated from Columbia College of Chicago with a BA in Art and Design and Minor in Art History. The majority of his work is screen printed by hand, influenced by Minimal artists from the 60’s, graphic art of Frank Kozik, collage design of Art Chantry. All while incorporating textures and illustrations to make layered fields of visual noise.
Francisco lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is working as a print artist and relief teacher for the local school districts. Francisco is also a board member of the American Poster Institute with host Flatstock’s throughout the United States, Mexico and Europe. Recently his work has been acquired by the Whitney Museum of American Art.
